Title: Star Ratings
Post by: Bob_Meteors on October 01, 2017, 06:16:56 PM
Why exactly do we use star ratings for players? I am in another league with numbers 20-80 and I much prefer that. 2 different players with, say 4 stars can be very different in terms of skill. I think we should change to numbers.

It's a balancing act between too little and too much information. I don't like the overall ratings using numbers because they are too finely calculated. The overall ratings aren't just every 5 between 20-80, they are every single number. At least they used to be, has that been corrected?

I didn't like seeing a guy who was 62 potential versus another guy who was 63. In an online league with no scouting there still needs to be some mystery or unknown when it comes to players.

I like the 1-10. Moved my personal sim to that also.

Yes. In 18 (and I think 17 too) there is an option for every number, or every 5 numbers.

I also prefer the stars, leaves a little more guess work making it more interesting in my opinion.

I like the stars. I want very little info from the overall rating to leave room for the skill of player evaluation.
