Postseason Awards Ballot
« on: September 16, 2017, 09:52:00 AM »
In an attempt to create transparency for awards voting season, the representative from São Paulo has elected to release his ballot publicly for the first time in the history of the WBA. He has stated though, that despite the fact that he is releasing this to the public, he will not be accepting criticism of any kind. He believes his choices to be of a pure and divine knowledge. [Editor's Note: He has no reason to believe that. He's an idiot, and like all of us his choices are wrong.]

GM OF THE YEAR
1. Jake
2. Andy
3. Echo

That punk Jake has built a dynasty that hit its peak this season, and his moves have assured that it's going to be together for a long time. Strongly considered Huck over Echo for the 3rd spot, but I didn't account for transactions made during the postseason, and at the time of voting I felt like Huck had mortgaged too much of his future to make this last run (obviously things have changed on that front a bit now).

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
1. Carlos Vargas
2. Cheslav Zamorov
3. Sebastiåo Henriques
4. Ramón Montés
5. António González

A 2nd triple crown in as many years is great, and had he not gotten hurt Zamorov may have been the winner, but given that their games played basically evened out, Vargas took the lead in voting based on his stud defense at an integral position.

PITCHER OF THE YEAR
1. Nick Hammond
2. Serhat Karpat
3. Michael Smith
4. Zuleide Rainha
5. Tolentino Goulart

The top six or so guys this year all felt somewhat interchangeable (sorry for leaving you off Longle). In the end, Hammond earned the top spot by consistently being just behind the leaders in all the key categories.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
1. Héctor López
2. Lewis Wright
3. Tony Gutiérrez
4. Sapto Djojopoespito
5. Pat Hardy

Lopez who settled in nicely at a tough position, was the quite obvious choice as ROY in São Paulo's opinion. The controversial choice may have been slotting Hardy in at 5, where his functionality and success at the back of the bullpen elevated him above several rookies who put up decent enough seasons as full-time players, but did little to distinguish themselves as pieces going forward.

RELIEVER OF THE YEAR
1. Justin White
2. Ahjmed Jahina
3. Bob Poole
4. John Solomon
5. Juan Jose Martínez

Buenos Aires, your team is kind of annoying with how stacked it is. When it comes to relievers, their work is all about context and I wound up taking the top 5 guys in WPA. White jumped to the front though thanks to his huge workload and fantastic peripherals.

SILVER SLUGGERS:

Pretty good logic except for TOTALLY MESSING UP THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR VOTE.

Zamorov just told reporters in Santo Domingo that he is offended and is going to sit out the 2110 season.

I've already spoken to his representation and he's agreed to come back to the team as long as he and Vargas swap positions. No word yet on whether Vargas will agree but his neighbors have reported screams of anguish and random households objects flying into their backyards.

Y'all need to vote for Subbarayudu in the IBL. 50+ home runs and set the single season RBI record.
