2102-2103 Offseason Thread

This is the thread for all discussion of offseason activities during the 2102-2103 offseason.  This first post will be updated throughout the offseason and will also include links to other threads or amendment votes that come up during this time.

 We are now in spring training. SET YOUR ROSTERS FOR OPENING DAY.  Next sim goes through the start of the regular season.  If your roster has over 25 players I may hit the "AI Organize" button.

Sim to 4/2/2103 complete.  Next sim is Sunday (2/21), exports due by 9:00 pm.

Remaining sim schedule:

Sunday 2/21 - Sim to 4/9/2103 (first sim of the regular season)

After that we revert to the Su-Mo-We-Fr sim schedule.

Draft order is just reverse record from your whole league.  I don't load and start the draft in the utility until we hit January 1 of the next year in-game.

Haven't really paid attention that much.  Usually it's not hard to change their demand into a legal contract and get them to accept.  Just pay attention to how much they ask for in terms of total value and number of years.

draft email please

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORGANIZATIONS. OOTP jacked up my organization on the draft import;all players are in my system but the game promoted players to fill out the spring training roster at 60 even though I have that set to my control.

Okay, I have an idea I want to run by the league.  Because of the game screwup, how about allowing all owners to post names of players in this thread that are currently listed as having a major league contract despite having zero major league appearances.  If the names are posted here that is something I can check quickly on the player screen.  Then I can set those players to minor league contracts and theoretically that should fix the issue.

I noticed this is possible because two of the guys I had to waive are in this situation.  I would have preferred to do it based on major league service time but because the league is so young there are guys that show service time that have never actually been on a regular season ML roster.  That's because on league creation and after the inaugural draft OOTP fakes in service time information.

If I'm missing something with how contracts and service time work then let me know.

The risk is that it's an honor system if someone signed a free agent to a ML contract and then demoted him.  I would check the player history to verify that but something could slip through.

I didn't realize the issue until this last sim and noticed my payroll jumped. I have 7 guys that got wrapped in AI shenanigans that I don't want on the 40 man / or with major league contracts:

Should I waive these guys or do you do it directly?

I will handle it.  The fastest way is that I will release them then reassign them to the same team.  Export normally and I will do it right before I run the sim (after I import your team).  That way you can make sure they're on the roster you want and I will put them back there.
