Melbourne 2127-28 Offseason Trade Block
« on: December 01, 2020, 03:33:51 PM »
Of immediate concern: 3B Guillermo Carvajal - Getting up there in age but can still hit. 1.1 WAR this year as mostly a sub, could probably start for some teams, particularly vs lefties (6/8/7/8/9). Also with 6/6/8/7/5/8/10 defensive ratings, he's best at 3B but can be used at 2B, LF, or RF. Has a team option for this season at $4m, I'm not planning to keep him so he'll be very cheap. If you want him, yours for a 5th, but you have to let me know soon, the option will happen within a few days and if I don't get any interest I'll just lose him.

Available whenever:

1B Gunadhara Upanishad - 7/7/8/7/6 vs both hands, decent fielder at 1B. 1.4 WAR last year in only 42 games started. Should be starting and doesn't have room here in Melbourne.  Willing to talk trade on him but don't have a specific price. I'm also not sold on moving him, but if you want him, make an offer.

CL Natale Datini - 10/8/7, pretty bad in Melbourne but had good underlying stats and got BABIPed to death (3.23 FIP is pretty good). Very cheap $1.4m contract for three more years. As I wrote this I realized I don't really want to trade him, but I'll listen to offers.

SP Boboy Espina - 9/5/8 with very good stats at home (2.29 FIP, 1.89 ERA), as you'd expect from a low-movement guy in my park. He'd be very good for a specific type of ballpark. Two years left at $3.4m, second year is a team option. I'll ask for a 2nd and would probably take a 3rd.

C Alejandro Yera - 6/7/5/6/8 vs RHP, pretty bad-looking defensive ratings but decent defensive stats (only -3.2 ZR in 129 games in his last full season in the majors). Also had 2.7 WAR that year. Asking for a 4th.

Pretty much anyone else on my AAA roster can move (except Mesa). Younger ones would tend to cost more. There's a lot of AAAA talent there that should probably be in the big leagues.

Also, I need a really good 2B. I'd be open to some sort of package deal involving Datini+Upanishad or something for the right player. I can also move prospects.
