It's one of the old sayings of baseball ... you can never have too much pitching.  So as part of my rebuild I've been hauling in young pitchers by the busload.  In my farm system there are now 13 starting pitchers under the age of 25 who have projected grades of 3.0 stars or better.  The list:

Rodney Litchfield, age 24. 3.0 stars.
Eligius Kramer, age 24, 3.0 stars.
Allan Bourke, age 23, 3.0 stars.
Madidu Olamina, age 23, 3.0 stars.
Luo-shan Wu, age 22, 4.0 stars.
Tom Pierce, age 22, 3.0 stars.
Manny Sierra, age 22, 3.0 stars.
Khai Jiang, age 22, 3.0 stars.
Odell Pittakis, age 22, 3.0 stars.
Juan Menard, age 22, 3.0  stars.
Julio Esperanzoa, age 21, 3.0 stars,
Waso Kagame, age 20, 3.5 stars.
Hi-yuan Mao, age 18, 3.5 stars.

I'm not bragging; I realize that the attrition rate is high with pitchers, so it's unlikely that all of these guys will develop into successful big-league pitchers.  But I'm trying hard to lay the groundwork for future success in the Black Forest.  Toward that end I've assembled an unusually large number of candidates for my future starting rotation.

Will it be enough?  We'll find out in about 3-4 years.
