  • Timer is set for 3 hours for the 1st and 2nd rounds.
  • Timer is set for 2 hours for the 3rd-5th rounds.
  • Timer is set for 1 hour after the 5th round.
  • Teams are switched to auto-draft if they miss a pick (if the utility uses your list, then it shouldn't switch you to auto).
  • Timer is supposed to run from 8:00am to 10:00pm Central, sometimes this feature is a bit wonky.

DRAFT WILL GO LIVE AFTER THE SIM ON TUESDAY 5/2 AND TIMER GOES LIVE AT 8:00AM CENTRAL ON THURSDAY 5/4.

Post here if you want me to add your email address to the draft update list. I don't do this automatically for everyone because there are a lot of emails that come through.

I was working on my draft list and ran across an old file I had on the 2002 draft. I had forgotten but I had Carlos Vargas as the best player available but selected Román López #1 overall because I needed a top pitching prospect in my system. Oops. Vargas slipped all the way to the 8th pick and is now the best player in the world.

Ever since I've taken that as a lesson to heavily lean toward the best available instead of a position of need.

Can't do anything but laugh at Gaudêncio Bobadilha's potential repertoire. Hahaha.

Could end up the greatest pitcher in WBA history, could lose 3-4 points on control potential, have his pitches never develop, and end up like Román López.

I think the Twinkletoes heir apparent is in the ABL draft pool.  8+ contact, 10 power.

The question i have about bobadilha:  why does the game recommend him as BP / emergency starter????  if you throw 8 pitches and have 8 stamina that's a starter in my book....

Why don't the ABL and IBL share a draft pool?

I believe it's because we are essentially two separate leagues.

That's correct, the ABL and IBL are completely separate leagues that are in an OOTP association together. The design of the league was intended to make them separate and make winning each league a big deal, etc.

Plus I thought it was an open-ended design in case we ever expanded (not looking likely) or anything similar. Anyway, from the beginning there have been separate draft pools so only trades and free agency allow players to go from one league to the other.

The IBL draft can't be saved using server backups. Is there any chance any owners keep track of draft picks when evaluating for their next picks? Please let me know if anyone has an image, a copy/paste to Excel, or any other information on picks that were taken.

Unfortunately it seems we're going to have to restart the IBL draft.

I have a list of the picks I made in rounds 1-8.  Can send it later; it's on my other computer, don't have access to it at the moment.

If we can't put together a complete list I'd be okay with doing the draft over, maybe with quicker turnaround times between picks or something.

I'm good with redoing the IBL draft.  I do want my first 2 draft choices as I was very excited to get them, just like most of us probably are.  After that it can be a whole new draft for all I care.

Also ok with redoing the draft. The only one I remember was Iwo Cipiknsi with the third pick.

Actually if we redo the draft I want to change my first pick.  He's a pitcher, and the very day after I drafted him, the development report showed his Control rating going down.  An ominous sign.  Twice in the past I've drafted pitchers who were supposed to be studs but then their Control ratings plummeted and now they're useless.  If we redraft, I'm taking someone else, and of course that could impact everyone else's picks.  Just want to make everyone aware of that situation in advance so there won't be any unpleasant surprises.

Yup I strongly suspect that if the 2nd overall pick changes, there's a really good chance the domino effects will end up changing several other first round (and maybe even later) picks ...just wanted to make sure everybody was aware of the likely ramifications (I personally don't have an opinion one way or the other).

Also, I was able to look into my Google Cache and recover the first four rounds of the IBL draft.
