The Andy Stone Saga: Stone traded to Melbourne!
« on: October 05, 2017, 12:08:51 PM »
STUTTGART, Germany: Earlier today, the Black Forest Foxes announced they were considering trading Andy Stone. Bob Weinberg, GM of the Melbourne Meteors, immediately sent 4 private planes, containing almost the entire front office as well as some of Andy Stone's friends from Melbourne, to Germany. One plane contained the entire Meteors bullpen, and three starting pitchers, in case they had to be traded. The planes, painted neon orange and brown, flew into Stuttgart at about 10:00 AM local, just 3 hours after the Foxes made the announcement.

After landing, Weinberg drove to Foxes GM Perry Cooper's office. After entering, he brought the whole pitching staff inside and said "You can have any 2 of these guys".  Imre Maxa and Bob PĂ©rez looked at each other, stunned. All of the pitchers were asked to leave the room as the negotiations started, but Maxa was able to place a listening device.

As the negotiations began, two HMS Concorde passenger jets, the fastest commercial planes available, touched down in Stuttgart. The Stone Faithful, a group of Meteors fans who did not burn their Stone jerseys, poured out and ran to Cooper's office carrying signs. Around the same time, the Stone Brigade, now made of mostly Foxes fans, plus a few Cobras fans trying to keep Stone from their division rivals, arrived at the scene. Open fighting broke out in the parking lot.

A small group of Brigadiers broke Cooper's window and attempted to tranquilize him to delay the negotiations. They were intercepted by the Faithful and knocked unconscious. Some Faithful went to Scott Boras V's house and tied him up to prevent him from influencing the negotiations.

As Weinberg and Cooper reached an agreement and stood to shake hands, the Stone Brigade broke through the front door with a BorasBrandTM battering ram. The Faithful were able to fend them off long enough for Weinberg and Cooper to shake hands on the deal. Stone was reportedly happy to return to Melbourne.
