The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars topped the Puerto Rico Coqui by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to pitcher Matilde Brehm. Brehm threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball for the Jaguars. Danny Torres earned his 18th save in 24 tries. Rio de Janeiro raised its record to 75-69 with the win.

Rio de Janeiro used the timely hitting of Jean-Louis Bourgeois to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jaguars on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Brehm told the Rio de Janeiro Observer.
