Big Day for Coronado in 10-5 Foxes Win
|
The Black Forest Foxes got their 2125 season off and running with a win over the Paris Fleur-de-Lis at The Den. The final score was 10-5. Black Forest first baseman Manuel Coronado, in particular, had a fine performance. Nikolai Tarand got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Coronado, who finished 3rd in the IBL in extra base hits with 66 in 2121, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Foxes into the lead, 7-3.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Coronado said. "We did a good job of that today."
