Falcons Lose to Fleur-de-Lis, 3-2
|
The Paris Fleur-de-Lis picked up a win at Stade de France, taking down the Karachi Falcons, 3-2. Starting pitcher Éric Sanchez was a big reason why. Sanchez picked up the win for Paris, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Andrei Uborevich recorded his 17th save for Paris.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Fleur-de-Lis had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when first baseman Kuukburi Jafri hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Saturnino Charters and made the score 2-1, Fleur-de-Lis. Jafri was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jafri told the Paris Gazette.
The win elevated the Fleur-de-Lis to 31-20.
