Pharaohs Lose to Groove, 4-1
|
China starter Justin Broadbent put a stranglehold on the Cairo offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Groove to a 4-1 win. China is now 27-32, Cairo 30-29.
In the top of the ninth, Raúl Soto stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Pharaohs were trailing 4-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Wen-zhong Chen made a terrific pitch and Soto grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Cairo comeback.
