No one was more impactful than Mike Torres in the 10-7 São Paulo win over Mexico City. Torres, who finished 4th in the FSSL in OPS with .918 in 1936, was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. São Paulo pitcher Edwin Gutierrez got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Gautier Gobbi got the loss. With the victory, the Toucans upped their record to 31-24.

It could have been a different outcome for São Paulo, had it not been for Jun-young Yoon, the 25-year old center fielder . Yoon contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put São Paulo up, 8-7.

"I still think this team can play even better," Torres told the São Paulo Chronicle.
