Ottawa beat Santo Domingo at Whiskey Jacks Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Kareem Spence. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Victor Castillo collected save number 7. Ottawa now has a 3-game win streak.

Spence had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 fastball from Wildemar Fabila, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Whiskey Jacks a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Spence.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Spence told the Ottawa Bulletin.
