Folders Win by Slim Margin, 4-3
|
The Mumbai Cobras and Manila Folders provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Mumbai Cobras got a superb performance from pitcher Anupradana Koushika. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Manila. The Folders won the game, 4-3. Koushika threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Manila reliever Mason Couch was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Floyd Whitfield took the loss. Gary Chalcott notched his 14th save in 16 chances.
Manila used the timely hitting of Avatsara Mamgain to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Folders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Mumbai skipper AP MP, "and it cost us."
With the win, Manila upped its record to 38-37.
