Meteors Sneak Past Groove, 4-3
|
Meteor Crater was the site of a competitive game between the China Groove and Melbourne Meteors.
China right fielder Tony Haward had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Melbourne at Meteor Crater. Haward went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. The third-place Meteors now have a win-loss record of 40-41.
Tristan Vantassell took Hyo-kon Lim deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Meteors on top, 4-3. In all, Vantassell had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Melbourne skipper Bob Bandits. "I can't complain."
