Groove Get Close Win Over Meteors, 6-5

The China Groove downed the Melbourne Meteors, 6-5, at Shanghai Ball Park. The Groove were led by Flint Warren. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Bastien Renard got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. After today's action, China sits at 49-61, while Melbourne falls to 51-59.
China took a 6-5 lead on Hwen-thiang Guo's 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Melbourne pitcher Craig MacKenzie in the bottom of the eighth.
