Though he had a great game, Joshua Ezon could not single-handedly produce a win for Rome. Mumbai won the game, 3-2. Ezon went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Cobras, at 73-44, have a comfortable 17-game lead in their division.
In the bottom of the first, Gerardo Talenti hit a 3-run home run. The 26th home run of the season for the Mumbai third baseman put the Cobras on top, 3-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Mumbai skipper AP MP.
