The Rome Generals beat the Manila Folders, 8-4. Rome pitcher and San Eugenio, Philippines, native Tobias Lisao led the way. Ramon Martinez, 7-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. The win hiked the Rome record to 42-41.

Rome used the timely hitting of Denis Delalande to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Delalande.
