|
Mexico City rode a good effort from starter Alfredo Topete to beat the Buenos Aires Dolphins at Dolphins Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Topete went 10 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 5, and struck out 1. His record improves to 12-20. Luis Huerta got the save, his 6th in 6 chances.
Mexico City third baseman Christophe Marin had a key at-bat for the Aztecs in the top of the 11th inning. Facing Buenos Aires pitcher Tony Reynoso, Marin hit a run-scoring single to make the score 3-2, Mexico City. For the day, he went 1-6.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Topete said.
After today's action, Mexico City sits at 58-77; Buenos Aires slips to 64-71.
