DeMartino Named Top Reliever for FAAA

Rafaele DeMartino was dominant and cool under pressure this year, and his standout performance has earned the Quebec Capitales closer recognition as the 1939 FSSL Triple A Reliever of the Year Award.

"I was just doing my job, and my job is to get people out," said the 29-year-old out of Necochea, Argentina.

The award winner made 55 relief appearances this year and had 36 saves. He fanned 43 batters in 58.2 innings, with 24 walks. He pitched to a record of 4 wins and 5 losses to go with his 1.23 ERA.

He received 14 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tony Alvarado of the Santiago Caballeros finished second in voting, while Alex Lopez of the Adelaide Bite finished third.
