Karlsen Rips Gujranwala for 5 Hits
Saturday, June 24th, 1939
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Vancouver's Andreas Karlsen made it happen today against the Ospreys. Everything came together at the plate for the 27-year-old third baseman as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Mounties to a 14-3 win at Falcons Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Karlsen said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Andreas Karlsen hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Querubim Mossa in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season Karlsen is batting .290 with 48 RBIs, 36 runs scored and 6 home runs.
