FAA Announces Best Batter Award Friday, September 1st, 1939 For a rookie just breaking in, Ben Hurst certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the FAA Batter of the Month award for August. The 29-year-old shortstop for the Carolina Coqui hit .347 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and 19 runs scored. During his career Hurst has played in 322 games, batted .212 with 19 home runs and 262 base hits. |
