Veling Throws 9-0 Shutout Monday, July 31st, 1939 Goiania Toucans starter Aaron Veling really did a number on the Salta Dolphins today, shutting them out 9-0 on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 1 strikeout. "We didn't have good at-bats," Salta manager . "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Veling." This season Veling has a 12-5 mark in 24 starts with a 3.95 ERA. He has given up 201 hits in 164 innings, struck out 52 and issued 59 walks.
