Propenzicotti Premier Pitcher in July Tuesday, August 1st, 1939 In July, Pieroantonio Propenzicotti tore through the FSSL Class A like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 21 years old. The young Zamboanga starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 0.48 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 37.2 innings he collected 23 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .187 average. This season Propenzicotti has a 11-8 mark in 23 starts with a 2.87 ERA. He has given up 159 hits in 159.2 innings, struck out 85 and issued 59 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .256 batting average against him. |
