FA Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award Friday, September 1st, 1939 He may only be 24, but Arti Vasava of the Venice Legionnaires has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the FSSL Class A. The reliever was today named the FA Reliever of the Year Award winner for 1939. He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 3 saves in 46 relief appearances and 45 strikeouts in 56.2 innings. He had a record of 3-2 to go with his 2.06 ERA. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 14. Alex Quevedo of the Darwin Miners finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Henrique Belsar of the Seville Bulls finished third.
