Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Clowney Friday, September 1st, 1939
When Noah Clowney jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs.
The Resistencia Dolphins shortstop turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the FSSL Rookie League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 1939.
His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get no saves in 44 relief appearances, 81 strikeouts in 66 innings and only 18 walks. He had a record of 5 wins and 3 losses to go with his 1.23 ERA.
"I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said.
