The Detroit Blue Gills topped the Los Angeles Stars, 4-3, in Americas Baseball League action at Tokyo Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Detroit pitcher Leo Morris. Morris, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Ragnar Arnfeldt, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

Roderyk Komorowski, who led the ABL in triples with 14 last year, helped out the Detroit cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 2 with a triple and 2 walks.
