Puerto Rico Coqui starter Shih-k'ai Tseng was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 4-1. Tseng, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Chih-hsiung Chiang earned the save for Puerto Rico, his 4th of the year.
Sabeeh Jibril, the 11th overall pick in the 2141 draft, helped out the Puerto Rico cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"Shih-k'ai did a good job mixing and matching," said Puerto Rico manager Kir By.
Santo Domingo drops to 7-5.
