Pian 3-for-4 in Blue Gills Win
The Detroit Blue Gills beat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 6-4, at Thunderdome. Joy-shan Pian, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in stolen bases with 3, starred for Detroit. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Xuan Do picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Qian-fu Jiang, who signed a 2-year contract worth $9,600,000 on 02/05/2149, was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Richard Phillips, his 5th.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Min-zhong Yao to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Gills on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Detroit manager Billy 1189.

For the Thunderbirds, the loss makes their record 5-9.
