Beijing Wins, 6-4
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Beijing Emperors and Rome Generals.
Beijing shortstop Danh Sa was instrumental in helping the Emperors triumph, 6-4, over the Rome Generals. Sa was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Daniel Jahnet earned the win, while 34-year old right-handed pitcher Naomi Matsunaga took the loss for Rome. Tom Davis closed it out for his 6th save.
Berde Lund provided a timely hit. The Beijing third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Emperors on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Beijing manager Kev In.
Early on, the Emperors, at 11-3, have excelled.
