Chicago Defeated By Jaguars, 5-1
|
Britt Leonard, who finished 5th in the ABL in strikeouts with 169 in 2140, was locked in. The right-hander led the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars to a 5-1 win against the Chicago Beefs at Beefs Stadium. Leonard yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. The win gives Rio de Janeiro a record of 10-6.
Rio de Janeiro used a clutch at-bat from Labeeb bin Hussein to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Jaguars ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We took home the win," said bin Hussein. "What's not to like?"
