Detroit Blue Gills starter Yoshinori Matsushita turned in a top-notch performance against the Santo Domingo Palmchats at Estadio Santo Domingo. The result was a win for the Blue Gills, 2-0. Mahdi bin Harith, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Palmchats, now 7-12, continue their slow start.

Jesús Aguilera, who is tied for 10th in the ABL in home runs with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. Aguilera contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Detroit up, 2-0.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Matsushita.
