Due in large part to right fielder Gualter Bonito, the Melbourne Meteors sunk the Black Forest Foxes, 5-4. Bonito was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Melbourne reliever Ismael Mata picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Mariano Ochoa took the loss. Picking up the save was Max Schmalzl, his 2nd.

Melbourne took a 5-4 lead on Guonçallo Sandim's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sandim hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Black Forest pitcher Mariano Ochoa visibly frustrated.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Bonito.

The win lifts Melbourne to a record of 9-12.
