Blue Gills Fall, 9-5, to Ribadeneira, Thunderbirds
|
The El Paso Thunderbirds knocked off the Detroit Blue Gills, 9-5, at Tokyo Ballpark. António Ribadeneira was a big reason El Paso won. The third baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The Blue Gills fall to 10-18.
Jack Davis, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in doubles with 9, aided the El Paso cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Billy 1189 told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
