Toucans Deal Jaguars 12-5 Loss
|
The Sao Paulo Toucans downed the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 12-5. The hitting star was right fielder Abraha Saqr. Saqr went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 for the Toucans. Picking up the win was Grama Ramasubraman. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. With the loss, Rio de Janeiro sinks to 16-12.
Saqr got the Toucans off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single.
"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Sao Paulo manager Casey Blake DeWitt.
