Meteors Drop 4-3 Decision to Emperors
|
The Emperors grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Bird's Nest, overcoming a fine effort from Melbourne pitcher Kien Tseng. Tseng went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Tom Davis closed the game out for Beijing, earning his 8th save. Early on, the Emperors, at 20-8, have excelled.
Abdul-Wahhab bin Idris, who finished 4th in the IBL in home runs with 45 last year, helped out the Beijing cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Beijing manager Kev In.
