Thunderbirds Get Thrilling 3-2 Win
|
The El Paso Thunderbirds snuck past the Detroit Blue Gills, 3-2, in 11 innings. El Paso pitcher Tien Dung Long, in particular, had a standout performance. Detroit now is 10-19.
Kyle Middleton came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"That's baseball," said Detroit manager Billy 1189. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
