Jaguars Roll to 11-3 Win Over Toucans
|
In the 11-3 Rio de Janeiro win over Sao Paulo, the impact of Leo Brooks was substantial. Brooks, who is tied for 6th in the ABL with a .595 slugging percentage, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win leaves Rio de Janeiro with a record of 18-12.
With Rio de Janeiro leading 8-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Brooks came up to bat against Sao Paulo pitcher Roger Oldford. Brooks hit a curveball to left for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Jaguars on top, 11-3.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Brooks told the Rio de Janeiro Daily.
