Monks Stumble, Lose to Meteors
The Melbourne Meteors powered past the Daegu Monks, 9-3, at Meteor Crater. Gualter Bonito provided some of the pop. He was 2 for 3 with 2 triples and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Melbourne win streak is now 3 games.

The Monks had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Meteors going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Afzul Khan came to the plate. Khan hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Daegu hurler Manuel Salazar. It was Khan's 1st home run of the year.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Khan.
