Beefs Keep Streak Alive With 5-1 Win
Chicago turned a good effort from starter Patrick Widhoezl into a win over the El Paso Thunderbirds at Beefs Stadium. The Beefs won the game, 5-1. Widhoezl yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 5-4. Nasser Moreau got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.

Ryan Park had a big 2-run triple for the Beefs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from Xiao-xuan Wu, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2142 draft, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 10th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beefs ahead, 4-1.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Widhoezl. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

The first-place Beefs have won 9 in a row.
