Blue Gills Dealt 2-1 Loss
|
Chicago starter Ethan Vergette put the Detroit offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his sinker in leading the Beefs to a 2-1 win. Tiljad Mbizi notched his 21st save of the season. The Beefs, at 42-47, sit in third place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.
Chicago took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, Jaya Rais hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Beefs.
"Ethan did a heck of a job," said Chicago manager Mikes L. Son.
