The Los Angeles Stars stopped the Mexico City Aztecs, 8-4, in 11 innings at Ballpark of Mexico City. The Stars got a big game from Brenden Mathaathi, who was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The 4th-place Stars improved to 40-49.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Mathaathi delivered big-time for Los Angeles, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Hayato Tsuchida. The game-changing hit put the Stars on top, 7-4.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Los Angeles manager Alex G.
