The Rome Generals defeated the Oslo Voyageurs, 7-4. Left Fielder Angelino Baroncelli deserved a large share of the credit. Baroncelli went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Generals. Husain bin Sariyah got credit for the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. Rome is now 49-40.
Jean-Michel Martinez, who is tied for 6th in the IBL in runs scored with 63, contributed to the Rome win with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Oslo manager Marq Ualler.
