Fleur-de-Lis Topple Generals with Late Rally
|
Rome third baseman Pancho Castillo was sensational. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Paris beat the Generals, 13-8. Paris reliever Roberto Lugo picked up the win to move to 4-3. Cornélio Tender suffered the loss. Paris is now 38-53. Rome is 49-42.
Paris won the game in part because of Pepe Reyes. The third baseman ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fleur-de-Lis ahead, 10-8. For the game, Reyes had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Reyes.
