The El Paso Thunderbirds earned a close win over the Los Angeles Stars, thanks in part to Tien Dung Long. The El Paso right-hander, who finished 2nd in the IBL in batting average with .325 in 2146, played a key role in the 11-inning, 2-1 victory. The win went to Timothy Adamczak in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Clodio Castanhedo took the loss. The win for the Thunderbirds lifted their record to 49-43.

El Paso needed the clutch hitting of Yong-kook Choi to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 2-1. For the game, Choi had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"Tien Dung did a good job mixing and matching," said El Paso manager AP MP.
