Generals Snatch Late-Game, 8-7 Win
|
The Rome Generals outlasted Lich Huynh and the Paris Fleur-de-Lis, 8-7. Huynh was impressive in the loss. The Paris left fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Rome reliever Lúcio Caso, now 1-0. The loser was Reynante Daquigan. With the win, Rome upped its record to 50-42.
The decisive blow was delivered by Tutu Karim in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Reynante Daquigan to win the game for Rome. The home crowd went nuts.
"Winning is contagious," said Karim. "We're looking forward to the next game."
