Meteors Even Record with 6-5 Victory
|
The Melbourne Meteors beat the Daegu Monks, 6-5. Melbourne pitcher and Holguín, Cuba, native Cipriano Sánchez led the way. With this game in the books, Melbourne is 18-18, Daegu 23-13.
Had Hudhayfah bin Salah al Din not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, bin Salah al Din hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Meteors.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Melbourne manager Bob Meteors.
