The Beijing Emperors wiggled past the Tokyo Fitzies, 12-11, at Gitche Gumee Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Beijing right fielder Martín Meloncelli. The Emperors bumped their record to 54-39 with this win.

Danh Sa was 1-5, while adding 2 RBI for Beijing. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 11-11 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Anuhlada Phadkar. It was his 52nd RBI of the season.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Sa. "But we got it done."
