Fans watched the Los Angeles Stars and the Sao Paulo Toucans fight to the finish.
Los Angeles starter Yoo-ngan Xing pitched effectively against the Sao Paulo Toucans at Field of the Stars. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. The winner was Xing. He threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Øivind Ulland. Clodio Castanhedo finished to wrap up his 23rd save.
Gabir Tareen had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the seventh for Los Angeles. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Los Angeles in front, 3-1.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Casey Blake DeWitt.
Los Angeles now owns a record of 43-53.
