Blue Gills Knock Off Dolphins at Tokyo Ballpark
The Detroit Blue Gills knocked off the Havana Dolphins, 7-4, in Americas Baseball League action at Tokyo Ballpark. Detroit pitcher and Kawasaki, Japan, native Yoshinori Matsushita had an outstanding performance. Matsushita picked up the win for Detroit, going 8 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 7-11. Osman Sumbatashvili finished the game for Detroit and earned his 20th save.

Left Fielder Joy-shan Pian made an impact for Detroit, when he swatted a 2-run triple off Matt Gentry in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Pian went 2-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Detroit manager El Weston.

With the victory, the Blue Gills record stands at 33-64.
